Pakistan's teenage rights activist Malala Yousufzai, shot in the head by Taliban for campaigning for girls' education, is in a stable condition and "continues to make good progress", doctors treating her at a UK hospital said today.

15-year-old Malala "remains in a stable condition and continues to make good progress at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, under the care of a medical team from the Queen Elizabeth and Birmingham children's hospitals," they said.
Her family remains in Pakistan and "it is still not yet confirmed when they will be joining her in the UK," the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham said in a statement.
The schoolgirl was flown to the UK last week following a surgery in Pakistan during which a bullet lodged near her spine was removed.
Malala along with two of her classmates was attacked in the restive Swat region of northwest Pakistan as they made their way home from school on October 9.
The teenager was treated by neurosurgeons in a Pakistani military hospital. She was transferred to the UK by an air ambulance arranged by the United Arab Emirates.
