Agneepath remake is very special movie to Karan Johar because the original movie Agneepath(1990) was produced by his father Yash Johar. And it was also a challenge to Karan Johar to make it more well.

It has been on the mind of Karan ever since film of his father released in 1990.Yash Johar was very disappointed with the profitable outcome of the original Agneepath, even though the movie gathered plenty of critical approval. Dad Yash Johar had pinned a lot of hopes on it as the previews had been full of praise, but when the film didn't do well at the box office it broke his heart. Father of Karan Johar always wanted to remake Agneepath film. One day Karan Malhotra (associate director of My Name Is Khan), and Karan Johar were chatting when they discussed about yash’s desire to make it again.Both Karan agreed immediately.
Yash Johar was great Indian film producer and he dead in 26 June 2004.
