The 33-year-old, who showed up in lighthearted comedies, for example, Never Been Kissed, Good Luck Chuck and Honey, advised Marie Claire UK she liked to stay inside her safe place.
"I don't know whether I was ever pigeonholed, I simply made extremely protected, exhausting decisions as a performing artist and I assume full liability for that," she said.

"It wasn't the parts, it was most likely the way I interpreted them. I was reluctant to be courageous and striking. I was adolescent, I was apprehensive about being condemned, and I needed to mollify everybody."
Jessica, who graces the intro page of the magazine's September issue in a botanical print dress, said junior performers today have it a bit simpler on the grounds that there are more parts for them to pick from.
"It was harder when I was beginning. There's a great deal more differing qualities now; there's a more extensive scope of fruitful performers and magnificence," she proceeded.
"We didn't have Tina Fey and Amy Poehler featuring in motion pictures when I was beginning. Halle Berry wasn't an Oscar victor and there was no Jennifer Lopez."
The mother-of-two said turning 30 wasn't a good time for her.
"I was pretty p****d off. I don't know why it was so difficult, it simply was. I was pregnant [with Haven, now three] most importantly, and I truly needed to gathering like a rock star!" she said.
"I didn't even know I thought about my 20s until I turned 30. I have an inclination that I look better now. I think I contributed more than my fair share physically in my 30s, actually when I'd had children. I feel more like a lady."
